<p>WASHINGTON &ndash; Congressman Dan Benishek (MI-01) today cosponsored H.R. 1133, the &ldquo;Helping Our Homeless Vets Act,&rdquo; which allows the Department of Veterans&rsquo; Affairs to contract with private clinics to provide disability services to veterans and makes them eligible for housing vouchers that could pay up to 70% of their rent.</p>

Tuesday’s ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that cites “unchecked incompetence” by the VA in handling post-traumatic stress cases will also be addressed at the hearing.

<p>Three German torpedoes ripped through the icy waters of the Atlantic off the coast of Greenland. On February 2, 1943, the USS Dorchester was transporting 902 U.S. servicemen to war. Only one torpedo hit, but it struck a deathblow - killing scores instantly and resetting the ship&#39;s course to the bottom of the ocean.</p>
